On my last visit at our little stream on the edge of our village I found that the Wild Garlic bloom still needed at least a week to reach its peak. Saturday evening the forecast said overcast with patches of sun. I decided to head out. I planned if it was sunnier I was going to shoot close-ups and if there was mostly overcast I would take intimate landscape shots.
ON LOCATION: 05/05/19 - Bluebells, Wild Garlic And Crappy Extension Tubes
Bluebells are already well on the way but also behind a bit in their usual life cycle. Last Sunday was too cold for early May. Temperature dropped around freezing at dawn. It was mostly clear sky with only a few clouds. The previous evening I decided to break my photography deadlock and go for a short stroll.
ON LOCATION: 24/01/19 - Jurassic Coast
New year, new resolutions. One of them is that I'm going to do more photography and update my blog content fortnightly. We'll see how it goes. :)
I had two days holiday left from last year so I decided to take them and go somewhere to shoot seascapes. Winter is the best time to visit the south coast of the UK. Most of the time both the Sunrise and the Sunset happen in the right directions giving perfect shooting conditions. And also not to forget that you don't have to wake up too early and stay up too long for that. But there can be a disadvantage, the weather. It can be rough sometimes. I don't mind the cold but can't take strong wind. Fortunately it wasn't windy at all this time.
REVIEW: Voigtlander Nokton 40mm F1.2 Aspherical
When I switched to mirrorless in 2012 I chose the micro 4/3 system with the Panasonic GH2. On of the most offered lens of the system was the Panasonic 20mm F1.7. Although it had some shortcomings like the noisy and slow autofocus motor you could hardly complain about its image quality. It was sharp straight from F1.7, one of the best amongst the micro 4/3 lens. I used this lens a lot on photo walks and holidays. This was the point when I fell in love with the equivalent 40mm focal length.
ON LOCATION: 11/08/18 - Four Falls Walk
I promised to continue the story of the day when I shot the Sunrise at Mumbles lighthouse. As it was still very early and the weather forecast told mostly overcast during the day I decided to visit one of the iconic trail of the Brecon Beacons, the Four Falls Walk. After a short stopover at Sainsbury’s I was on the road. It took me only 45 minutes to get to the car park. Unfortunately it was a pay and display car park and I didn’t have any coin with me. So I had to look for a different solution. Fortunately I remember seeing a small car park halfway there. Eventually I chose that one which was a good decision. The waterfalls were much closer.
