As I promised in my last post I was going to speak about our Sunday walks in Snowdonia. We slept really well after strolling down from Snowdon the previous day and left the B&B ony around 10am. We didn’t want to have a longer challenging walk so we decided to check out the local beach along the Promenade, the Marina and National Trust’s Dinas Oleu (Citadel Of Light) up on the hill. This is a gorse-covered hill where the view towards the Mawwdach Estuary is worth every penny. The tide was out so I had the chance to take a couple of photos around the area.
ON LOCATION: 07/08/19 - Manorbier
Last week I went on a short photography trip to Pembrokeshire. I spent a night next to Tenby and three nights in Marloes. Unfortunately the weather was unusually crazy for August. I had to stay indoors whole day Friday and even Saturday morning because of the heavy rain and strong gales of 50 mph. I left home on Wednesday afternoon hoping for a sunset shoot somewhere on the coast. I had two options to choose from. The first was Skrinkle Haven Beach with its famous Church Doors rock formations in the neighbourhood of YHA Manorbier. But when I checked the area on SunCalc.org it turned out that the light wouldn't hit it nicely around sunset. So I decided to visit another location on the other side of Manorbier.
ON LOCATION: 24/07/19 - Exmoor Coast
It's a shame but the last time I visited the coast for photography was in January. That image became explored on Flickr and I felt really pleased. Since then somehow I haven't managed to make it to there again. But last week we spent a short family holiday in North Devon in the neighbourhood of the beautiful Exmoor National Park. This area is a big favourite of mine. It's packed with all kinds of goodies both for families and for photographers. Rolling hills, rushing rivers with waterfalls, rocky bays and sandy beaches with dunes, all reachable within a 25 miles radius. I brought all my landscape gear with me and I planned to shoot some sunsets. I had luck as the weather was exceptional.
ON LOCATION: 24/01/19 - Jurassic Coast
New year, new resolutions. One of them is that I'm going to do more photography and update my blog content fortnightly. We'll see how it goes. :)
I had two days holiday left from last year so I decided to take them and go somewhere to shoot seascapes. Winter is the best time to visit the south coast of the UK. Most of the time both the Sunrise and the Sunset happen in the right directions giving perfect shooting conditions. And also not to forget that you don't have to wake up too early and stay up too long for that. But there can be a disadvantage, the weather. It can be rough sometimes. I don't mind the cold but can't take strong wind. Fortunately it wasn't windy at all this time.
ON LOCATION: 11/08/18 - Four Falls Walk
I promised to continue the story of the day when I shot the Sunrise at Mumbles lighthouse. As it was still very early and the weather forecast told mostly overcast during the day I decided to visit one of the iconic trail of the Brecon Beacons, the Four Falls Walk. After a short stopover at Sainsbury’s I was on the road. It took me only 45 minutes to get to the car park. Unfortunately it was a pay and display car park and I didn’t have any coin with me. So I had to look for a different solution. Fortunately I remember seeing a small car park halfway there. Eventually I chose that one which was a good decision. The waterfalls were much closer.
